Street sign for Almstadtstraße in Berlin in Latin (above, Almstadtstraße, German) and in Hebrew letters (below, גרענאדיערשטראסע , Grenadierstraße, Yiddish). The Yiddish street sign was installed in 2021 by the artist Sebestyén Fiumei in memory of the Jews who lived here at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, most of whom were Yiddish-speaking immigrants from Eastern Europe.
