Beschreibung
Until 1942, up to 100 Jewish orphans always lived in the Jewish Orphanage at Leostraße 3. The house (here next to the Institute for the Blind, the orphanage is the 2nd building from the left) also served as an elementary school for Jewish children who were not orphans and after the destruction of the synagogue in 1938 also as a prayer house for Paderborn Jews. Almost all children of the orphanage were deported to extermination camps after 1942 and murdered.
