Munich Displaced ONLINE

In the immediate post-war period, Munich became a stopover for tens of thousands of displaced persons (DPs), including the group of Jewish DPs who called themselves “The Remnant of the Rescued”, She'erit Hapleta in Hebrew. As part of the exhibition project “Munich Displaced”, the Jewish Museum Munich has researched the local infrastructure of the Jewish DPs in Munich: from aid organizations and newspaper editorial offices to kosher grocery stores and restaurants. More than 40 places of Jewish DPs in Munich can be viewed on Jewish Places. Further information can be accessed via the online exhibition “Munich Displaced ONLINE”

School project on Therese Giehse

In the 2021/22 school year, the cultural education department of the Jewish Museum Munich supported the project course of a Munich high school. The participating pupils independently researched and created entries on the life and work of Munich actress Therese Giehse. The biography of Therese Giehse can be viewed on Jewish Places.
