Jewish Museum Berlin Foundation

Our exhibitions, publications, educational work, and diverse program of events address a broad audience from Germany and around the world. To this end, we are oriented towards the interests of our visitors, whom we regularly survey. Our collections grow continually, thanks also to many donors from Germany and abroad.

The museum has a special focus on outreach. The extensive educational program, the research opportunities at the Library and Archives, and the varied events calendar are aimed at children, young people, and adults alike. Besides guided tours and workshops, we also host talks, concerts, and readings.

With the Academy Programs on Migration and Diversity and the Jewish-Islamic Forum, we have created platforms for discussion thematically centered on the political, social, and cultural conditions in which minorities live in Germany and the possibilities of social inclusiveness.

The Jewish Museum Berlin developed the idea and concept for Jewish Places and launched the cooperative network. The museum hopes to harness technological progress to raise the visibility of diverse Jewish life throughout Germany, spearhead discourse on diversity and tolerance in a society in flux, and push this conversation into the public debate. The JMB team takes responsibility for developing the website, coordinating with partners, addressing legal matters, and inputting and editing content. In addition, regular workshop sessions are held with school groups in cooperation with the JMB’s Education Department.
